MATPAC TO OPEN NEW “CLEAN” WRESTLING FACILITY!!

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak the MATPAC wrestling board of directors has been working hard and preparing for a safe return for our wrestlers, coaches, and family members.  We initiated waivers, additional cleaning, disinfecting of equipment and now MATPAC Wrestling Inc. is going to take that a step further.

Due to restrictions of not being able to fully use public facilities, MATPAC Wrestling Inc. has leased a new facility large enough to host 2 full size wrestling mats, work out area, office space, and restroom facilities.  The new facility is in the former Golf Etc. building located at 228 West Front Street in Bismarck.  New Dollamur mats have been purchased and should arrive here in time for the Grand Opening, October 6th.

In addition to the new facility to allow wrestlers more social distancing space, MATPAC has purchased an air filtration system proven to destroy up to 90% of Coronavirus in the air and on surface contaminants!!  The “Air Reactor” from HiTEch Air Solutions is a portable filtering system proven to destroy contaminants 8 ft away.  Not only will the Air Reactor destroy the Coronavirus it is also proven to destroy other known air and surface contaminants such as; Ringworm, Staph, Herpes, Impetigo, Mold, Mycotoxins, respiratory infections, bacteria/viruses, formaldehyde, allergens, and other odors.  More details in the testing and the product is available on the HiTech web site at https://hitechairsolutionsusa.com/hitech-air-reactor-products/.

Saving the best news for last, we are super excited to announce 2x NCAA Qualifier Ryan Blees is joining the MATPAC coaching staff!  Ryan will join last year’s coaches and brother Adam Blees and Head coach Jeff Schumacher.  Ryan Blees wrestled two years at Oklahoma State and three years with Virginia Tech where he was a 2x NCAA Qualifier.  Ryan was a 4x state champion for BHS and a long time MATPAC alumni.

MATPAC’s official training season starts off with our traveling team in October to prepare for the Monster Match Nationals in Rapid City, SD and the Rumble on the Red in Fargo, ND in December.   We are looking forward to a safe return for our wrestlers and coaches and hope the additional precautions we are taking help protect our MATPAC family now and into the future.
